I think i can see a fox in the first picture or some sort of animal like that for sure, but i cant see it in the 2nd and 3rd pics.

You’re absolutely right, Amelia! It is a fox cub. In the first picture, it is just below the silver birch, sitting on the bank. In the second picture, look at the middle of the photo and you’ll see the cub trotting from left to right and in the last picture it is just above the fallen log, lying half in and half out of a patch of sun. ๐Ÿ™‚

Blessed indeed, Saffron! I sat watching several very young cubs for a long time and saw their Mum on a couple of occasions too…more pics to come soon and some film too, if I can figure out how to upload it!

  3. Quite well camouflaged, isn’t he? Or is it a she? You sure need to have good eyes to spot it. Great shots! ๐Ÿ™‚

Yes, wonderfully well camouflaged when you think how orange their fur is. They blend in with the old beech leaves perfectly. One of them was sitting right in front of me for some time before I saw it. I have some better photos that I’ll post sometime soon, although I spent most of my time just enjoying the beauty of being there with such wild creatures so close…
